Friends of Desford Surgery (FODS)
The Friends of Desford Surgery is a Patient Participation group (PPG) representing you; the patient. The group meet regularly, four times a year. Dr Maini and the Practice Manager attend these meetings too. If you have any worries or suggestions you could contact this group and they will pass this on to us. It is important to state, that the PPG do not deal with personal complaints, and these should be directed to the Practice Manager to address.
The PPG offer support to the Practice, and create a quarterly newsletter to provide Practice updates, highlight NHS Campaigns, and other community information related to health and wellbeing. They also arrange fundraising events and manage donations.
The FODS have raised over £20,000 over the last 20 years. These monies have been used to buy/replace valuable equipment for the Practice.
We are currently looking for new members to join the Patient group. Please ask for further information at reception.
